The Board of Directors of Wild Rice Electric Cooperative is seeking applicants for President/CEO at our headquarters in Mahnomen, Minnesota.
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ electric utility experience and 5 years’ upper-level management, preferably with a rural electric cooperative
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business or Accounting is preferred, and certain required knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary to carry out the duties of the President/CEO
- Strong leadership and communications skills and ability to build positive relationships with boards, members, employees and community stakeholders
Wild Rice offers a salary range of $150,000-$240,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), defined benefit retirement plan and state/federally required benefits, including Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave.

Apprentice Lineman

Wild Rice Electric Cooperative is seeking three (3) Apprentice Linemen to join the operations team for the upcoming 2026 summer construction and maintenance season. This position is seasonal with an expected start date on or around May 4, 2026, with an end date of no greater than 1,000 worked hours.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Line Superintendent, Line Foreman or Lead Lineman and within scope of apprenticeship:
- Assist in the building and maintenance of underground and overhead electrical distribution lines
- Assist in the restoration of electrical outages
- Operate with an extreme awareness for safety of self and team
Experiences and Requirements:
- Active apprentice program participant is preferred
- Current training on First Aid, CPR and pole top rescue is required
- Current/valid/unrestricted commercial CDL license is required
The hourly rate for this position is $29.08.
